Dr. Jayaprakash P., a native of Kannur, Kerala, earned his B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Kannur, in 1996. He subsequently completed his M.Tech. and Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2003 and 2009, respectively. As part of his postgraduate research, he undertook his master’s thesis at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, under the DAAD fellowship program in 2003.

Dr. Jayaprakash began his professional career as a Research Associate at the Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC), Palakkad, in 1997, followed by a tenure as an Engineer with the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) in 1998. In 1999, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Government College of Engineering, Kannur, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor in 2014. He also served as Professor and Head of the Government Engineering College, Wayanad, from 2021 to 2023. Dr. Jayaprakash P formerly served as the Senior Joint Director (ECS) at the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Kerala.
